I met with my local MP this week to talk about the proposed cuts to Personal Independence Payments (PIP) by the Government. I shared my own personal experiences of transitioning over from DLA to PIP and how the current system is unfair for people with Dwarfism.
My MP said that he can write a letter on my behalf to the Disability Minister outlining my concerns over the current proposals and asking for the PIP criteria to be more reflective of our community’s lived experience.
Have your say
This is an excellent opportunity to also include the experiences the Dwarfism community have had with the PIP process, so we can provide a clearer picture at this crucial time of change to this benefit that many of us rely on for independence and care.
The form below is an opportunity to add your voice, share your thoughts, and describe how the PIP process has impacted you over the years.
Not all of us have had great experiences, and it is essential that those who make policy about our lives and the support we receive understand the impact this has on people.
I appreciate that our experiences can be traumatic, so please only answer these questions if you feel in a safe place to do so.
If anyone from the community would prefer to speak with me directly, please feel free to contact me so we can arrange a date and time to discuss.
>> Fill out the form here <<
The deadline for this form is Sunday, 6th July 2025.
Please share this with other groups/friends/people you know with Dwarfism. Parents can fill out the form on behalf of their child.
The more responses we have, the stronger our case will be.
Many thanks,
Steph
